Jamboree participation is limited to members of the Boy Scouting Venturers, and Varsity Scouting programs which are part of the Boy Scout Division of the Boy Scouts of America.
To be eligible Scouts, Venturers and team members must have a current BSA membership with a Boy Scout troop, Venture crew or Varsity Scout Team.
You must also be at least First Class Scouts at the time of the Jamboree. You must be 12 years of age by the July 15, 2013 or an 11 year old that has graduated the 6th grade, but has not reached the 18th birthday by July 24, 2013.
Other requirements
include: being approved by your unit leader and local council, have participated in the pre-jambo training experience (troop
meetings and campout), have filed a Jamboree Personal Health and Medical Record
Form Class 3, No. NSJ-34412-01 prior to the prejamboree training,
have been active in a troop or team for
at least six months before July 1, 2013, and have submitted all registration fees per the local council's payment schedule.
Venturer Scouts must have graduated the 8th grade or be at least 14 years of age by July 15, 2013 but not have reached their 21st birthday by July 24, 2013 and follow the other stipulations for the Boy Scouts.
Cub Scouts (including Tiger Cubs and Webelos Scouts) and Exploring will not be eligible as members of the official contingent troops. You may attend as a day visitor and see all the wonderful activities provided.
Jamboree staff positions are open to adult men and women who meet required qualifications. Adult staff members must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. Youth STAFF members must be at least 18 years of age by July 15, 2013 but not yet 21 years of age by the July 24, 2013 and be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America.
It is possible that international organizations invited to the Jamboree will bring girls as part of their contingent. They will be recognized as fully participating attendees if they meet all of the membership requirements prescribed by their national organization.
